‘Paplins’ are our pupil chaplaincy team, who have a central role in implementing the school vision statement and work with staff in leading and developing the Catholic life of the school.
Why Paplins? As the Pope is the Vicar of Christ in the whole Catholic Church our chaplaincy team plays a similar role within our school. The Paplins are visible and approachable in supporting pupils, parents, and staff in faith and Religious Education.
To join the Paplins, pupils have to apply and explain why they want to be a member and what they will contribute to the prayer life and Catholic life of our school. The emphasis is on passing on their faith to others, demonstrating the Gospel Values through their actions, taking a lead in worship and Common Good initiatives, and supporting other pupils as they develop their relationship with Christ. Once chosen to be Paplins they are introduced to the parish at Sunday Mass.
