This week Year 6 were writing fractured fairy tales. A fractured fairy tale is a different version of a traditional fairy tale. Firstly, we read and watched traditional fairy tales. We analysed them and identified the basic structure, characters and language used. Next, we looked at fractured tales such as ‘Snow White in New York’, ‘Cinders’, ‘Cindy Ellen’ and ‘Seriously, Cinderella is so Annoying’. They were really interesting and we loved how the authors put their own spin on the traditional tales.
We decided to focus on Cinderella and wrote our very own fractured fairy tales. Have a read!
