We’ve been busy, busy, busy since starting back after Half Term! We started off our new topic ‘What can we find in the Garden?’, which has allowed the children to explore and investigate the outdoor environment in search of Mini-beasts. The children have a whole range of knowledge about Mini-beasts, which they get to share every week as we look at a different Mini-beast each week.

We started the topic off with the classic ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’, which the children have absolutely love and know off by heart from start to finish.  They learnt that a Caterpillar sleeps for 2 whole weeks in its cocoon before turning into a beautiful Butterfly.  We did have a few children that were a bit worried about the giant toy Mini-beasts in the classroom, but now, they all love to play and use the Mini-beasts to retell the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar.  We have had some amazing drawings and paintings this week of both the Caterpillar and the Butterfly, which have been displayed around the classroom, which makes us all feel proud!

Here are a few pictures of us in action!
