Year 3 have spent the last week wondering who delivered a strange box to their classroom doorstep. Miss Hurst and Miss Roisin have been equally perplexed by the mystery!

As we have been learning about newspaper reports, we decided to write about this strange event. The students have used brilliant vocabulary to describe the box which came with breathing holes, ‘urgent’ and ‘warning’ labels. Due to the concerns for safety, the box was moved out of the classroom for safe keeping until it could be confirmed there was nothing dangerous inside. Year 3 had many guesses as to what was inside the box with some being an cat, a snake or even treasure!

Year 3 decided to conduct interviews with witnesses to the event, including their classmates. They are now experts at reporting using eye witness accounts and distinguishing fact from opinion. Year 3 have begun writing their reports and are hoping to crack the case before publishing their work!
