Hi Naomi,
What a pleasure it was today to work with amazing staff and the children. We rarely write this but please read out the following in Assembly when you get an opportunity:
Thank you to all the fantastic children and staff. We were so impressed by the Outstanding behaviour, speaking and listening skills and attitude to learning. We were also made to feel very welcome and the children demonstrated good manners and lots of creativity in their ideas. We hope you enjoy your film and look forward to coming back in the future.
Letter received from St. Anne’s Residential Home for the Elderly May 2015
On behalf of all of us here at St. Anne’s I would like to express our gratitude for the beautiful flowers which are now in the Chapel and around the home giving much joy to the Residents. Please know of our sincere gratitude and grateful prayer.
God Bless,
St Agnes (Reverend Mother) and all at St. Anne’s.
Thank you for your gift in favour of our work with the elderly poor. In your generosity is reflected your love and respect for the elderly, who form the living memory of our society.
With our Residents, we assure you of our daily prayers for you and your intentions. You also have a special remembrance in monthly Masses in our Homes around the world. May you be filled with God’s blessings of peace and joy.
Gratefully
The Little Sisters of the Poor.
I wanted to say such a big thank you for letting me come and spend the morning in St Scholastica’s on Wednesday, and to you and your staff for giving up your valuable time to talk to me. It was absolutely brilliant to be able to see the way you and your team are working with the children to develop their social and emotional skills. The visit will make an invaluable contribution to the review, which I will of course share with you when it is published (which we expect to be March).
Best wishes,

Thank you so much for participating in the MFL link between secondary and primary schools event yesterday. We appreciate that this is a really busy term but you took the time to prepare work to share with others and to learn from each other. It also gave us the opportunity to look at how far we have come in the last year. In the event in January 2014 we were only working with 9 schools so they were the ones to present their work. We have indeed come a long way since then!
The pupils were a credit to you. It was clear that they are making progress and enjoying themselves too. The pupils from St John the Baptist and St Scholastica’s listened keenly to all the presentations. I hope I won’t offend anyone by saying that the Reception girl from St Scholastica’s was the star of the show.
It was also great to hear about the developing primary-secondary links. We heard of the work being done by Our Lady’s Convent, Bridge Academy and Clapton Girls. Cardinal Pole was represented at the session. This all bodes well for ensuring the pupils can build on their primary knowledge in Spanish when they transfer to secondary school.

A thank you letter from the NFER who carry out the tests in Primary schools.
Thank you for allowing me to administer the NFER tests in your school yesterday. It was a real pleasure to visit your school. The pupils worked so hard for the whole morning and responded well to questions afterwards.
Please thank Mrs Allen also for all her help and the member of staff who vacated the Library for us, so that we could have a quieter working environment. It was much appreciated. Thank you again. Best Wishes Mary Watson NFER
Mother’s Day concert. Oh what a Concert! Our children put on such a great show for their mothers & carers. It was excellent from production to performance! There were tears of joy & happiness in each & every eye.
Watching them sing, recite poems and play slide show pictures of their mums whilst organising lights, scripts & presentations was just amazing ! I am sure each & every parent was overwhelmed by this concert & very proud of their children. I do hope that St. Scholastica’s continues to embrace this use of technology with the personal skills of their children. They are all exceedingly talented in their own way & seem to love participating.
I must also add so well behaved. Thank you children & well done x Althea Marshall – parent governor.
“My teachers were funny and always had a smile on their face. I liked that they were always honest with their marking.” Year 6 pupil July 2013
“It helped me to learn more about Christianity because there was a church next door. My teachers were fun, kind and always had a positive attitude towards students.” Year 6 pupil July 2013
“The teachers are really nice. Fun but strict when they had to be. They were able to help us when we were upset. The school events were amazing and brought the whole school together as one community.” Year 6 pupil 2013
“Thank you for the love and kindness you showed my children and myself. We were all very much loved and looked after at St Scholastica’s. It has a wonderful sense of Community and my children were given more than enough support, help and concern. I was very happy with St Scholastica’s in all areas of education.” Year 6, 3 and 1 parent 2013
“Thank you for your love, guidance and support that my son received throughout his time at the school. Everything he learnt whether academic or otherwise will provide invaluable as he continues his journey in life. With the Christian ethos that the school subscribes to, Dalvane has gained the confidence to do all the things through Christ who strengthens him. We can’t thank you enough for your contribution to his life and these all-important formative years.” Year 6 parent 2013
Letter of appreciation received from St. Anne’s Home Following a visit by the Year 6 Choir
How can we thankyou for the wonderful performance you and the children gave to us here at St. Anne’s when we had all the Jubilarians with us from around the Province. It was truly magnificent how the children were able to follow your slightest signal. Please do convey to them our Sincere Thanks and Appreciation for all the effort they put into the First class Performance, everyone enjoyed to the full.
Trusting you and all the children have a wonderful holiday and no doubt you will have another group to train and the class whom we know will be moving on to higher classes, time passes, but certainly they were excellent and gave signs of being able and willing to give of their best and no one is able to do more than that.
Wishing you all well for the future for teachers are so important in a child’s life and this too was so obvious how they responded to your encouragement.
You are always welcome to St. Anne’s, wishing you every blessing and success, with your renew thanks.
Sister Josephine, Superior.
Some quotes from Parents about Parents Phonics lessons
‘These phonic classes have been so helpful. I now know those simple sounds, which means I am more able to help my children. Thank you for all of your help. Will you be doing more?’
‘I didn’t know any sounds and found it very difficult to help my child with his reading. Now I can prompt and help him more, plus I’m more patient because I understand what it must be like for him.’
‘Thank you Miss Cousins. Because of your classes I can help my child more at home and I am already seeing a difference. He read a whole story to me for the first time last night.’
‘I never knew what blending and segmenting was or meant and often wondered what my daughter was talking about when she mentioned it. Now I understand it and how important it is for reading. Thank you Miss Cousins.’
‘These classes have been so helpful and I have learnt so much. Thank you for your time and for the really helpful resources that we got to take home.’
