Early childhood is the foundation on which children build the rest of their lives. At St. Scholastica’s Primary School we greatly value the importance that the EYFS plays in laying secure foundations for future learning and development.
Our Vision for the Early Years
In the Early Years at St. Scholastica’s Primary School we provide a welcoming, caring and safe environment where positive learning takes place. We recognise that children have different starting points to their learning, and we plan according to children’s stage of development. This enables all children to learn and grow, develop and achieve.
Our curriculum is rooted in a religious understanding of life, where the Gospel values and the Beatitudes underpin our efforts to provide a quality education for all. We believe that children should leave Reception with the core skills and qualities that will equip them well for the next stage in their education. We can only do this successfully if we work together and have a positive partnership between home and school.
We have high ambitions for all our children, and for ourselves, and our aspiration is to be the best that we can be. We are committed to developing positive relationships, so that children learn to be strong, independent, confident and resilient whilst holding on to their Catholic values and duty to care for all in God’s world.
